· How to structure your presentation:
· Preparation & Appearance
· Coping with nerves
· Stance & movement
· Key messages
· Eye contact and engaging an audience
Before the course we ask you to come with two topics that you want to present about.
We help you hone your presentations skills on both topics.
At the end of the course, you will have practiced these presentations several times.
We also run advanced courses for experienced presenters. These cover:
· How to use PowerPoint effectively
· Telling a story
· Making your key points
· How to handle questions and answers, Q&A
· Dealing with a difficult audience
· The power of silence
· Effective use of props
· Using media, video and demonstrations
The first day
We restrict the course to just 12 people, and we have 2 instructors. This unique 6:1 ratio means you will hit the ground running.
By lunch on the first day, you will not only have performed your first two presentations, but you will be well on your way to preparing your third.
Also, during this first morning you will learn where to stand, how to structure your presentations for maximum impact and how to control those nerves.
We use a combination of short instructor led tutorials and actual delegate presentations. Each presentation focuses on something new, and you learn by presenting yourself and by watching others.
The learning experience continues over dinner, but there is also a chance to relax and to enjoy the excellent food and wine.
The second day
During the second day you will present on your two bespoke topics. We expect that a key take away will be 2 excellent presentations you can use immediately you are back at work.
Most presentation exercises during the course are designed to last 5 minutes or less. With the exception of the two topics specific to you, we focus on technique not on the presentation content.
By the end of the 2 days, you will have presented 7 times and listened to 77 presentations from other delegates. You will learn as much by presenting yourself, as by watching others do the same.
Certificate
At the end of the course, you will be proud of the certificate you receive from us, you will be a professional presenter.
Immediately before attending the courses we contact all delegates and instructors to ensure that you are in good health, have no Covid-19 symptoms and are not self-isolating. If any delegate is unable to attend the course for health reasons, we will reschedule for a later date.
We only select venues for our courses that have the highest standards of hygiene and have in place social distancing measures in line with government and public health advice.
The courses are held in large rooms where a maximum of 12 delegates and 2 instructors can maintain at least a 2-meter distance at all times.
Most of these rooms can accommodate up to 30 delegates, so occupancy is well below 50%. You will either be seated at a safe distance from other delegates or presenting. A one-way system is laid out in the main room so when you have to get up to present, or enter/exit the room, you can do so safely.
During the course introduction we will instruct you about procedures for refreshments and meals, so social distancing can be maintained within the procedures implemented by the venue. What's a product or service you'd like to show.
