"It was lovely to get to know you and do this course with you. This was my first experience in Presenting and although Presenting is out of my comfort zone, I enjoyed both days and sure was a great experience for me. Your feedback after each Presentation was great, we learned from each other as we went along the course."
"Wanted to thank you for the course, it was very informative, learned new things and also had fun.
What I really enjoy was how involved we all where, and it was not just a course, where someone speaks a bunch of slides and that’s it."
"I enjoyed that the steps were clear and your feedback was precise."
I also appreciated the support and encouragement you gave others.
"Thanks again and I hope to see you again for a future course."
"Indeed, I really enjoyed the course and I can say the same for my colleagues as all spoke very positively about it. I am sure all of us learnt from the tips given and we will apply them as we go along. The best aspect of the course was the actual presentations themselves, repeating and building up … practice helps us build more confidence and I think that is the key."
"As a person I have always challenged myself to present and most of all to be able to talk in front of a crowd. Nerves do get me and unfortunately, I loose my voice while presenting. "
"This course taught me certain tricks on how I can overcome such nerves and improve my daily communication skills especially with superiors."
"During the course we kept using the same topics repeatedly, at the beginning it was dull, but by the end of it I realised that the contact is just a topic while how you present is what grasps attention and the understanding of your listeners."
"Having a structure is vital and will continue to work on my nerves keeping the tricks and points that you passed on during the course."
"I liked the way how you expressed everyone’s strengths and weaknesses after every presentation. "
"I did indeed enjoy the course and it will definitely help me in providing presentations in the near future."
On a course everything that can go wrong will go wrong.
Sometimes factors outside of our control effect of course for example a car parking machine not working at a hotel which makes delegates late, so some people already stressed before the course arrive further stressed because of a simple car parking machine malfunction.
In this particular case the machine was just full of change and couldn't take anymore so we had to organise for the hotel to empty the machine of coins so that it could issue more tickets and allow people into the car park.
All very stressful, but we managed to calm it down with some cold water and some coffee.
Other factors affecting a course include traffic and in one case a fire which caused a major road closure,. This meant some people had a major detour, keeping other waiting.
We learn to be patient and allow for these unexpected events. Sometimes we have trivial issues such as somebody's name spelled incorrectly on a name card, or a certificate and we have to get this corrected - which we do. Occasionally people become emotional or distressed when they present.
We are trained in first aid, and we always bring extra tissues.
Everybody leaves the course smiling.
